The Trellis Series

These pieces were inspired by a quilted wallhanging which was a collaboration between my mother, Master Quilter Marion Hardy and myself. Marion Hardy was a member of a group of quilters calling themselves “The Fabulous Five” and one of their pieces won an award at the Museum of American Folk Art’s “Friends Sharing America” contest in 1991. Trellis #1 and #3 most closely approximate the original wallhanging colours but with unique textural renditions.

In Trellis #2 the colours have been changed to a warm brown palette and softened with diagonal strokes.
